"It tastes like a PiƱa Colada" is what my husband Chris told me. I, once again, served strawberry sauce over angel food cake for our Mother's Day celebration last Sunday. This time, however, most of the sweetener came from a top secret ingredient.....
a super sweet over ripe banana.
This sauce is cool and sweet, perfect for summer. In fact...it was so good I was drinking it right out of the container like a smoothie.
Strawberry Banana Sauce
Ingredients
1 carton of fresh organic strawberries
1 over ripe banana
1 tsp vanilla
Agave, to taste
Stevia, to taste (optional)
Directions
1. Blend all ingredients together until smooth.
2. Refrigerate and serve chilled over angel food cake, yogurt, ice cream or drink it like a smoothie.

LOVE this recipe idea! I'm definitely going to use it this weekend.
This looks great Dawn! I love all your fresh recipes. I'm not so sure about "Simple Cooking" telling us to stop adding things though, unless we have a problem with adding too much lol! I have to find balance in my food. For me, that means taking up the acidity, or salt, or heat when it's flat. Or taming things when their too acid.
Oh sorry, I meant to comment on the post above!
Ooooo strawberry sauce. I need this in my life.
Great use of the banana! I used one a coconut curry sauce the other night for tilapia and we really liked it. Our sauces are like some kind of tribute to the banana's versatility :)
This looks great. Thanks for sharing the ingredients.
