Saturday, so far, has been spent food shopping and cleaning….getting ready for my sister-in-law’s wedding next weekend.  I am the maid of honor and we are having the family over to the house the night before the wedding to celebrate.  Somehow we were able to fit in a bit of orange picking in our neighbor’s yard.  What a gorgeous day!
Now what the heck am I going to do with all these oranges?

  1. Awesome pictures, Dawn. Love the doggies (are they both yours?) and your sweet little girl.

We have an orange tree, and I am always trying to find uses for oranges in the winter aside from just juicing. Two recipes pop into my head (an amazing orange muffin & a roasted beet and orange salad) that I'd be happy to send you the links if you want.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Oh wow, lots of oranges! I never know what to do with them other than eat them as is or use in mimosas ;-) Happy Saturday!

  3. Looks like such a perfect day! Orange juice! Fresh squeezed is so good…especially since they were free. I can't bring myself to juice oranges I buy.

  4. Beautiful day! I love oranges and have never picked one fresh! I bet they're wonderful! Great pictures!

  5. Hi Dawn! So many oranges! You should make a big batch of orange juice…there is nothing better than fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning! How wonderful that you get to be the maid of honor in your sister-in-law's wedding. I'm sure you and the bride will be beautiful. Thank you for sharing your Saturday with me!

  6. The oranges and the weather look amazing. We've just been dumped by a tonne of snow in Toronto so enjoy that warm weather and the citrus!

  7. Hi all! Thanks so much for visitng and commenting!

Tasha…yes! Please forward the recipes! Most of these are bitter oranges but we do have a few sweet ones in there too. I have some great ideas for bitter oranges (or any orange really) coming up!

  8. Oh and yes, the white and chocolate labs are mine and the yellow lab is our neighbor's. He is so sweet and laid back.

  9. If you can come up with some ways to use all those oranges, please share! We received a gift of a huge box of Florida oranges. They are so good, but we'll never get through eating them just the two of us!

  10. Wow, orange picking! I am only a little bit jealous ;-) it is about 12 degrees here and alas no fresh fruit, or vegetables for that matter, to be found. I am so excited for you to be the maid of honor at your sister-in-laws wedding! I am hoping we will get to see lots of pictures!
